Outdoor Grit is a new and refreshing outdoor group fitness provider, based in the outskirts of the Adelaide CBD, in the City of Prospect. Outdoor group fitness in Adelaide has had its ebbs and flows; however as an organisation, we believe our program is like no other on offer in the Adelaide outdoor fitness industry.
Our outdoor group fitness sessions are uniquely:
- Challenging and inspiring for all members
- Efficient – 40 mins in length
- 100% inclusive and community focussed
- Constantly varied in the types of movements prescribed
- Evidence-based
- Functional
- Led by proficient coaches who value technique and the needs of the people at an individual level.
Workouts include a structured warm-up, workout and cool down to ensure everyone in our tribe gets the most of every session, with minimal risk of injury or ongoing muscle soreness.
The movements we use in our outdoor group fitness sessions are scaled to suit the needs and limitations of every member of our tribe (catch name for our group) and are prescribed to be completed at an intensity level that is relative for each person; for example, a mum returning to exercise after having a baby, will perform light resistance movements at slower speeds and with increased rest; however a person with increased fitness will be able to carry out the physical tasks in each workout using greater resistance weights, faster speeds (without compromising technique) and with fewer rest periods.
We welcome females, males, ethnic groups, sporting groups, children and the elderly and believe we have something to offer everyone.
Our flagship outdoor group fitness program is our main workout of the day (WOD) which is open to females, males, ethnic groups, sporting groups, children aged 8-15years and the elderly and believe we have something to offer everyone.
In addition, we offer two specialised group programs:
- BarBellas – Females only outdoor group fitness
- Little Gritters – Kids only outdoor group fitness, for children aged 5-15 years.
Our primary location is Prospect, with more locations across Adelaide opening up soon. Any person who is looking to get fitter, healthier and build greater mental resilience can test-run any of our sessions for free, as part of the structured on-boarding process.
